IQNA – A large number of flowers have been used to decorate the holy shrine of Imam Ali (AS) in Najaf, Iraq, as the birth anniversary of the first Imam approaches.

In a display of love and devotion, the servants of the Alawi shrine decorated the luminous shrine with flowers.

The holy mausoleum and its courtyards were washed and cleaned and then various flowers, including roses, were used for decoration, according to the Astan (custodianship) of the holy shrine.

Shia Muslims and others celebrate the birth anniversary of Imam Ali (AS) on the 13th day of the lunar month of Rajab, which falls on Saturday, January 3 in 2026.

A large number of pilgrims from Iraq and other countries visit the first Imam’s (AS) holy shrine in Najaf on the 13th day of Rajab every year.
